Ares Vista report – RIAA Victimizes Students

I was reading an article last night about how riaa victimizes students. Agents have made a habit of harassing students that are thought to be downloading music files illegally. The agents are also going after the universities they attend and even their mothers in what looks like an attempt to sue all of the residents of the United States. Apparently they are monitoring peer to peer systems like Ares that are used to download files. The article explained that over 3,000 letters have been sent to students and they are offering the kids a chance to negotiate a settlement prior to litigation. I am going to keep an eye on this to see how it turns out.

Not Everyone Gives in and Pays the RIAA Fines

I think that it is odd for RIAA to take aim at students, who typically don’t have a lot of money and aren’t trying to make money off downloaded files. I am glad that some filesharing students take on the riaa and don’t just pay the fines. Hopefully at least some of them will be able to get their cases dropped. And by bringing the cases to court they are costing the RIAA even more money since the RIAA will have to pay lawyers to deal with the court cases. I think they should focus on only the worst offenders.

It’s perfectly understandable to feel conflicted about college kids being sued by the RIAA for illegal file sharing. On one hand, stealing is wrong, whether it’s something as big as a hot car or as little as a hit song. On the other hand, the students under fire for filesharing may have had a good reason for downloading all those songs for free – a reason other than simply being too lazy to pay for them. Maybe they honestly believed that what they were doing wasn’t wrong. There are a lot of gray areas concerning the ethics of file sharing and the rights of artists and consumers. Students sued for file sharing need savvy attorneys to help them navigate these gray areas.

Ares Connect Sends File Sharing In The Right Direction

I have always been into the Ares Galaxy system but as of late I have been experiencing serious connection issues to the Ares Network. File sharing has been an issue and not just with me. Google Ares Connecting and you will see that it is a worldwide problem.

I hate to even attempt to start up my application but the outcome is always a mystery. It rarely connects outright, has taken 20 minutes on some occasions and on others could be left on all night without connecting at all. I have went out of my way to research other opportunities at Official Ares, but all I could find was Ares Vista, which, although it was better, pretty much left me in the same position I was already in.

I only put up with this frustration so long because I believe in the Ares product. Then around a week or so ago a buddy of mine sent me to Ares Connect. Where had he been all my life? Where had Ares Connect been all my life?!? My connection problems were eliminated. Now it connects the first time every time and the best part is I did not have to download a new install. One little utility – Ares Connect – dives in and updates all of the old connection files in the install you are currently using and it is compatible with all Ares versions now how sweet is that? Listen, if you are having these problems don’t hesitate, don’t wait, race to Ares Connect and put your file sharing connection in the right direction.
